Olive Tree Stables in Sharon, MA is a small private equestrian facility specializing in hunters, jumpers and basic dressage. We offer half hour and full hour private lessons for ages seven and up, taught by MA licensed riding instructors. Students will be able to learn about riding, tacking, grooming, horse care, and stable care. Students will also be able to participate in our monthly Horsemanship Seminars, local horse shows, and our “Winning Ticket to Ride” Achievement Program.

Beth Fitzpatrick is the head instructor at Olive Tree Stables. She is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. She has received her MBA in Global Business Leadership and Marketing, BS in Equine Business Management and Riding, and AS in Equine Studies. She is also a former Johnson & Wales IHSA Team Captain. Beth has had over fifteen years of experience in the equine industry. She is American Red Cross Certified in CPR and First Aid, holds a State of MA Riding Instructors License, and State of MA Riding School/Stable License. She is also on the Equine Committee for the Massachusetts Farm Bureau Federation and on the Board of Directors for the Norfolk County Farm Bureau.

- ASTM/SEI Certified helmets are required to be worn by all riders when mounted on a horse. There are helmets that can be borrowed at the barn.
- Paddock boots or sturdy shoes with 1/2” heel (no sneakers, no sandals and no dress shoes).
- Long pants, half chaps or full chaps (no shorts, no skirts and no capri pants).
- No dangling jewelry.
- Long hair should be pulled back into a low pony tail or braid so that the helmet will fit properly.
- We ride in all types of weather, please dress accordingly (warm layers, gloves, ear warmers, rain coat, etc).
- For the safety of the rider, riders will not be allowed to mount the horse unless properly dressed.

Olive Tree Stables offers a “Winning Ticket to Ride” achievement program to honor students and their recent riding achievements. There are six levels for flatwork and equitation, six levels for jumping, and six levels for stable management. Each level will have specific elements that will be worked on during the students scheduled lessons. Once the student has mastered each of the elements, the student will be tested in order to move on to the next level. Certificates and ribbons will be awarded upon successful completion of each level. Best of luck to everyone!

We offer Horsemanship Seminars throughout the spring, summer, and fall. The seminars will give students a fun, detailed, hands-on way to learn even more about horse care. Some of the topics will include, body clipping and trimming, preparing for a horse show, hoof care and leg care, setting up a course of jumps, horse first aid and nutrition, stable management, and so on. We will have guest speakers for some of the seminars.
Seminars will be $50.00 per seminar per person and will be 2-3 hours. The seminars will be open to specific age groups and will allow multiple students to attend each seminar. Reservations are required to hold a space. 24 Hours notice will be required for cancellations, otherwise you will be charged in full for the seminar. Information packets, certificates for attendance, and bottled water will be provided.
